The History of Corwood
Corey VanFleet is a legendary, heavily decorated swim coach whose impact reaches far beyond titles and awards. Training and teaching over 10,000 swimmers, his true legacy lives in the people he coached, mentored, and believed in, many of whom still carry Corwood with them today.
Honoring Legacy. Restoring Sacred Land. Building What Comes Next.
For over six decades, Corwood has been more than a piece of land. It has been a place of courage, discipline, laughter, and becoming.
Originally opened in 1962 by Corey and Mary VanFleet, Corwood began as a boy's summer camp, specializing in swimming. Yet it quickly grew into something much bigger.
In the late 1970's, the camp took a long rest period, and was reawaken by a former camp counselor, who started bringing life back to the camp. For generations of swimmers, campers, athletes, families, and coaches, Corwood was a place where confidence was built, character was shaped, and lifelong memories were formed.
Corwood’s 120 acres have served generations and built thousands of leaders. We are seeking donations to bring the property back to life.
The Corwood Experience is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (in process). Your donation is tax deductible.
